The students remember most of the actions and speech of the teacher when they interact with others. For example, there was a student from another class entering my classroom without knocking on the door, so I told him next time he should remember to knock before he enters someone’s room. I also reminded my students that is social etiquette they should take note of. After a few weeks, one parent came to me and shared, “it’s surprising when I come to my child’s room without knocking, he calls me out. I asked whom he’d learned that from and my child said the teacher taught him”. That’s when I realized at these ages, the action and speech of the teacher affect the student a lot. Then the parent told me it was a good thing and let’s keep teaching their children etiquette.
