Kindergarten
The Kindergarten Programme at VAS is developed based on both the Kindergarten Programme of the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Early Years Foundation Stage Programme of the United Kingdom. The programme aims to lay the very first foundation for children to succeed in their formal schooling and support the pursuit of their lifelong learning. The programme focuses on play-based activities appropriately designed for kindergarten children and delivered in both Vietnamese and English, which helps develop their initial and fundamental skills.
Kindergarten Education Programme
The Multi-faceted Approach to Learning for Kindergarten combines the Ministry of Education and Training's Early Childhood Education Programme with modern educational approaches. This blended framework prioritizes:
- Individual perspectives promote self-understanding within the context of family dynamics.
- Community spirit encourages children to share, demonstrate care, collaborate effectively, and learn from their peers, fostering valuable social skills.
- Comprehensive and harmonious development equips children for intellectual advancement and confident entry into primary school. Holistic development across physical growth, language acquisition, knowledge acquisition, social-emotional awareness, and aesthetic appreciation.
VAS implements a comprehensive English language program for kindergarten students. Aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework of the United Kingdom, this program facilitates a seamless transition into the Cambridge primary curriculum. Designed specifically for young learners, this programme emphasizes play-based activities delivered in English by native-speaking teachers. Key developmental areas include:
- Social and Emotional Development
- Physical Development
- Speaking and Communication
- Literacy
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Even at preschool levels, students have access to Information and Communication Technology (ICT), designed and taught in accordance with the standard British Curriculum Framework. Learning through playing and fun-filled lessons, students have the chance to familiarize themselves with:
- How to use the basic software of the computer
- How to improve keyboard using skills to support life long learning
- Identifying numbers, shapes, and letters; learning how to paint to help them develop both their language skills and music perception and thinking skills
