Closing ceremony of school year 2023-2024 – Achieving a new milestone on the journey of "well-becoming"
Concluding the 2023-2024 academic year with the theme "Well-becoming: Nurturing Resilience and Happiness," nearly 7,500 students from the entire VAS system are currently participating in the Closing Ceremony, held from May 18th to May 26th, with immense joy and pride for their remarkable achievements.
The academic year 2023-2024 witnessed remarkable achievements by VAS students in all fields. The ceremony also served as an opportunity for VASers to reflect on their efforts throughout the past year, while expressing deep gratitude to their parents and teachers who have always been there, cheering them on and providing wholehearted support in order for them to reap the proud accomplishments they have achieved today.
A total of 145 prestigious scholarships were bestowed upon 51 exemplary students, amounting to over 157 billion VND. These scholarships were graciously offered by renowned universities and high schools in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and Vietnam.
Thirty students achieved the highest level of academic excellence in their respective grades, earning the esteemed "VAS Excellence Scholarship."
Ten students, who made extraordinary contributions to the community, were honored with the "VAS Changemaker Award".
Nearly 50% of students in the CEP program attained the highest grades (A-A*) in English.
28% of students in grades 1-8, enrolled in the CAP and CAPI programs, secured A-A* grades in English, Mathematics, and Science.
~40% of students in grades 9-10, in the CAP and CAPI programs, achieved outstanding results with four A-A* grades in their IGCSE subjects.
36% of students in grades 11-12, pursuing the CAPI program, attained three A grades or above in AS Level subjects and three A-A* grades in A Level subjects.
100% of student successfully progressed to the next grade level, and 100% of grade 12 students satisfied the requirements to sit for the National High School Graduation Examination and apply for university admission.
More especially, VAS students received over 2,000 awards from academic, talent, and sports competitions, spanning from the district level to international platforms. Some of their outstanding achievements include:
- Students participated in the competition of Science and Technology Project for Secondary organized by HCMC Department of Education and Training with 27 projects and won 2 first prizes, 4 second prizes, 4 third prizes at the city level with 2 projects being selected for the national selection round.
- 15 junior high school students received Outstanding Student Awards in Literature, English, Chemistry, and Mathematics at the district level.
- 4 Grade 9 students and 10 Grade 12 students received Outstanding Student Awards in Literature, English, Mandarin, and Biology at the city level.
- 153 secondary students won international academic prizes in the competitions of SIMOC, GJMAT, IMC, AIMO, CCO, etc.
- 7 secondary students and 5 primary students won talent prizes in the international round of APFT- Asia Pacific Arts Festival, 21st Chess Competition, Masterpiece International Ballet Competition, 21st Chess Competition, etc.
- 146 medals of district level; 48 medals of city level in the Sports and Talent Competition for Secondary organized by OOETs and DOET of HCMC.
Through unwavering determination and steadfast perseverance, our students have conquered all changes and illuminated their respective fields of expertise.
