Finals & Award Ceremony of The 2024-2025 Secondary Student Science and Engineering Fair: VAS System Round
On October 5th, the Finals and Award Ceremony for the 2024-2025 Secondary Student Science and Engineering Fair - VAS System Round - took place at the VAS Hoang Van Thu campus.
This annual competition, organized by the HCMC Department of Education and Training, encourages students to engage in scientific research and develop technical innovations that address real-world challenges.
The competition consists of two rounds: the Preliminary Round and the Finals with two categories: Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. After the school-level competition, outstanding projects will be nominated to participate in the City-level competition.
This year, VAS students submitted 49 projects, an increase of 11 compared to last year, covering fields such as Social and Behavioral Sciences, Chemistry, Material Science, Embedded Systems, Environmental Engineering, Software Systems, Biochemistry, Robotics and Intelligent Machines, and Mathematics.
After the Preliminary Round, the judges selected 16 projects for the Finals. The finalists competed in two segments: the Poster Round (project displays) and the Presentation Round.
The top 8 projects from the Poster Round advanced to the Presentation Round, where teams defended their work before the judging panel to vie for first, second, and third places.
With the outstanding performance of the teams, the judges decided to award an additional third-place prize. In total, VAS students earned 2 First Prizes, 2 Second Prizes, 5 Third Prizes, and 7 Consolation Prizes across both categories.
Furthermore, 10 projects have been nominated to represent VAS at the City-level Science and Engineering Fair, scheduled for November 2024.
