VAS Conducts Professional Development Training for over 1,000 Cambridge and MOET Teachers across the System
In March, the Vietnam Australia International School (VAS) successfully organized its annual Professional Development Days—an intensive training program for the entire teaching staff across the VAS system, covering both MOET (Ministry of Education and Training) and Cambridge programmes.
An intensive training program for the entire teaching staff across the VAS system, covering both MOET (Ministry of Education and Training) and Cambridge programmes.
The training sessions took place simultaneously at all six VAS campuses, featuring a wide range of topics tailored to each educational level—from Kindergarten to Primary and Secondary. This year’s two key training themes were AI and digital skills in education, and gender education and emotional management for children.
In addition to expert-led sessions from VAS’s Academic Council, the program welcomed prestigious guest speakers: Dr. Tô Nhi A, Dr. Trịnh Cam Ly, and Dr. Sái Công Hồng. These are experienced experts from reputable educational institutions, ensuring the training’s high quality and relevance.
Beyond subject-specific knowledge, teachers also engaged in networking activities, shared experiences, and took part in the exciting “Talented Homeroom Teacher” Competition—an opportunity to explore new teaching strategies and strengthen classroom management skills.
Key Training Highlights:
- For Cambridge programme teachers: The focus was on updating modern teaching methodologies, applying AI and digital skills in education, along with flexible student assessment techniques and personalized feedback strategies.
- For Secondary teachers: Sessions centered around building exam questions aligned with the 2018 National Curriculum, along with the “Talented Homeroom Teacher” competition, which evaluated classroom management abilities.
- For Primary teachers: Discussions focused on the latest teaching approaches, combined with the “Talented Homeroom Teacher” competition at the Primary level. Teachers delivered strong presentations on enhancing the effectiveness of homeroom management.
- For Kindergarten teachers: Training revolved around gender education and emotional regulation, helping teachers foster a positive and healthy learning environment for young learners.
Ms. Nguyễn Thị Mỹ Hạnh, Deputy Head of Academic Affairs, shared: “The training sessions provided practical knowledge that helps teachers improve their skills and create positive changes in the classroom.”
The annual training program is a vital part of VAS’s long-term professional development strategy. Throughout the academic year, VAS also offers a variety of specialized training courses to continuously update teachers’ knowledge, skills, and modern teaching tools. These sessions are also valuable opportunities for the entire VAS teaching community to exchange experiences, develop innovative ideas, and inspire each other for a dynamic and successful school year ahead.
