In Grades 6 to 8 at VAS Secondary School, students can either continue their chosen Primary pathway or make a smooth transition to a new one.
Secondary education programmes
The Cambridge Academic Programme International (CAPI) integrates select subjects from the MOET Education Curriculum
Cambridge Academic Programme International (CAPI)
The Cambridge International Secondary Programme is the most popular and challenging academic programme in the world for junior secondary students. The CAPI students will study the following subjects:
- Math, English, Science, Computing, Global Perspectives, Physical Education
- Music (Grade 6-7 only), Art & Design (Grade 6-7 only)
- Foreign Language: Japanese / French / Mandarin
→ At the end of grade 8, students sit for Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint exam administered by Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), which is equivalent to CAIE’s Secondary Checkpoint certificates worldwide.
MOET Education Curriculum
Students will study the following subjects and additional topics under the MOET education programme:
- Vietnamese Literature, History, Civics Education, Technology
- Geography (Grade 8-9 only), Arts: Music – Fine Arts (Grade 8-9 only)
- Experiential Learning / Study of Local Community

Cambridge Education Programme (CAP)
The Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme is the most popular and challenging academic programme in the world for junior secondary students, comprising of 5 subjects: Math, English, Science, Digital Literacy / Computing, Global Perspectives
→ At the end of grade 8, students sit for Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint exam administered by Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), which is equivalent to CAIE’s Secondary Checkpoint certificates worldwide.
MOET Education Curriculum
The MOET lower secondary programme is an optimal version of the programme regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training, which further develops the competencies, skills and qualities that students have acquired in primary grades. The programme is streamlined and applies Active Learning Approach to enable positive, proactive, and creative learning of secondary school students.
The learning outcomes of VAS students are recognised and accredited by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and have equal validity with those in the top public schools of the national education system.
Cambridge English Program (CEP) combined with MOET Education Curriculum
Cambridge English Programme (CEP)
The Programme comprises of the following subjects: English for Speakers of Other Languages, ICT or Digital Literacy, Global Perspectives
→ At the end of grade 8, students sit for the Cambridge English tests and are awarded with PET Cambridge English Certificate, which is equivalent to B1 Level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and widely recognised in the world.
