Terms & Conditions of 3Rs Project 2023-2024
I. PARTICIPANTS
- Students from grades 1 to 12 of Vietnam Australia International School (VAS).
II. PROGRAMME’S GUIDELINES
- The program will be implemented and supervised by each Campus.
- The Marketing Department will support in providing mechanism, timelines, and communication on VAS channels
1. REDUCE PHASE (25/09/2023 - 17/11/2023): Kick-off 18/09/2023
Less Waste Challenge
- Classes in the same grade will compete with each other.
- Students in all classes need to minimize their daily waste (paper, plastic...) to take part in the challenge.
- On the same day, campus representatives will randomly select 01 grade to check and weigh the amount of waste consumed during the day of all classes.
- Different grades will be randomly checked on different days.
- Recommended checking timeline for campuses:
- Week 1: Grades 1, 2, 3
- Week 2: Grades 4,5,6
- Week 3: Grades 7,8,9
- Week 4: Grades 10,11,12
- Week 5: Grades 1, 2, 3
- Week 6: Grades 4,5,6
- Week 7: Grades 7,8,9
- Week 8: Grades 10,11,12
- Campuses will select the exact day for each grade to be checked within the above timeline.
- In order to maintain students’ self-discipline and create new habits, students and homeroom teachers will not be informed before the visit.
- Each grade will have 01 winning class with the least amount of waste.
- Each class will choose a representative as “Green Ambassador” to keep promoting and reminding classmates about the project.
2. RECYCLE Phase (Spring Fair – 02/2024): Kick-off 3/01/2024.
Recycled Crafts Contest
- Students form their group and come up with ideas for recycling used products, execute and display them in Spring Fair 2024.
- Each group registers with a minimum of 3 members and a maximum of 8 members; can be grouped across levels.
- The duration of the contest is within 1 - 2 hours, depending on the duration of the Spring Fair of each campus.
- Groups are encouraged to use recycled materials which can be collected from schools, houses and the surrounding environment instead of buying new materials.
- Campus representatives will select 3 winning groups based on a scale of 10. In which:
- Taking advantage of used materials: 4 points.
(The more used items collected as materials, the higher the score will be. New materials will not be counted, except for supporting materials such as glue, staples, etc.) - Creativity and usefulness of recycled products: 3 points.
- Nicely designed and presented: 3 points.
3. REUSE PHASE (11/03/2024 – 17/05/2024): Kick-off 04/03/2024
Books Collecting Challenge
- Classes in the same grade will compete with each other.
- Students in all classes collect books from the last school year/ semester 1 to donate to an organization.
- Each campus will select their preferred organization. Some suggestions include:
- Each grade will have 01 winning class with the highest quantity of books.
III. PRIZES
- Reduce & Reuse phase: Each grade will have 01 winning class. Winning classes will be honored as the Green Class at the Weekly Assembly and 2023 – 2024 School Year Closing Ceremony.
- Recycle Phase: Each campus will select 03 winning groups.
- Participating groups and 03 winning groups will be honored at the Weekly Assembly.
- 03 winning groups will be honored at the 2023 – 2024 School Year Closing Ceremony.
