Seven VAS Students Awarded "The World Scholar's Cup" at Yale University in the United States
The final round of the international debate competition - The World Scholar’s Cup 2018 (WSC) took place at Yale University (USA) with the theme, "An Entangled World". VAS was proud to have seven students participate and win 29 Gold medals, 15 Silver medals in both individual and team categories.

One special student, Bradley Quynh Lien, in grade 10B5 from Ba Thang Hai campus, skillfully defeated thousands of competitors from all around the world to be a finalist in the individual competition. She was also in the top 12/1000 in in the enior category and won the “Number 1 Scholar from the Country of Vietnam”.

Not only are their families and the VAS community really proud of these outstanding achievements, but Vietnamese people are also, especially when the red national flag was waved at the moment of victory.

1. Tran Vu Khanh Tran, Grade 8S3, won 3 Gold medals
2. Chung Nguyen Huynh Khang, Grade 8S3, won 1 Gold medal, 1 Silver medal
3. Tran Khang Thinh, Grade 8.L1, won 3 Gold medals and 2 Silver medals
4. Dinh Tran Hoang Minh, Grade 9.L1, won 3 Gold medals and 3 Silver medals
5. Pham Hoang Viet Khanh, Grade 9B4, won 2 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals.
6. Le Nguyen Khang, Grade 10B5, won 6 Gold medals, 4 Silver medals.
7. Bradley Quynh Lien, Grade 10B5 won 11 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals (in which 6 gold medals were from 6 categories involving writing. Very few students could come close to 6 gold medals in such categories).

The World Scholar’s Cup is an international team academic programme for secondary students from all around the world, hosted by the organization with the same name. This is also a playground for students to express their opinions about many topics such as civics, science, history, literature, and the arts through discussions and debates in English. The programme attracts competitors from more than 50 countries around the world and is attended by more than 3.000 students each year.
