Terms and Conditions for VAS’s annual PAINTING CONTEST.

I. OBJECTIVES

  • Establishing healthy and fair competition for students to develop creativity, aesthetics, and passion.
  • Award-winning artwork will be honored at the Year-End Ceremony 2023-2024. In addition, outstanding and suitable artwork will be used for VAS New Year Calendar.

II. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. Topic: When I grow up…

1.1.Elimination Round

The things, events, and memorable memories while growing up.

  • Meals or trips with beautiful memories of family, friends, and teachers...
  • Portrait of a loved one or a person who has a special meaning in students’ life.
  • The moment that students feel proud of themselves such as their achievements, whether they are small or big (changing their daily habit or receiving an award from a competition...)

1.2. Final Round

The dreams, aspirations, future career, or the image that the students want to be in the future.

2. Participant: All VAS students (Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary levels)

3. Organization form and artwork format

3.1. Elimination Round:

  • Students submit their artworks directly to their Homeroom/Enrichment teachers. The campus team will select and send the best artworks from the class-level qualifiers to the Organizing Committee.
  • The artworks should be presented on A4 paper (21x29.7cm) or A3 paper (29.7cmx42cm) or a suitable paper size for the artwork.
  • There is no limitations on the types of colors used.
  • No personal information of the participants is displayed at the front of the artwork.
  • On the back of the artwork, please name in the following format: Campus - Student’s full name – Class – Name of Artwork – Message (if any)
  • The selected artwork files should be named in the format set by the Organizing Committee and include the correct personal information of participating students (student's full name, their existing campus) to avoid any errors in the future.
  • The artwork must be an original creation created by participating student without the assistance of others. The artwork should not be a copy or based on the work of others. Artworks created by computer graphics will be disqualified.
  • The images and colors of the submitted entries must be original without using any other supporting devices to increase the quality of the artwork.
  • The outstanding artwork from the Elimination Round will be selected by the Organizing Committee to compete in the Final Round.
  • If the selected artworks for the Final round are not updated by the campus team within the specified timeframe, they will be considered invalid and will not be allowed to participate in the Final round. The Organizing Committee will not consider any late submissions beyond the stipulated deadline.

3.2. Final Round

- Location: SALA Campus

- Time:

  • Kindy: 08:30 – 10:30 on Friday November 3rd, 2023 (Students will have 15-minute break)
  • Primary & Secondary: 08:30 – 10:30 on Saturday November 4th, 2023.

- The artwork must be presented on A3 paper (29.7cmx42cm) and signed by the supervisor on the back of the artwork.

- Students prepare their own exam paper, pencils, erasers, crayons, watercolors or other colored materials, unlimited types of colors.

- No personal information of the participants is displayed at the front of the artwork.

- On the back of the artwork please name in the following format: Campus - Student’s full name – Class – Name of Artwork – Message of Artwork (Note: the message of artwork is not applied for kindergarten)

- The selected artwork files should be named in the format set by the Organizing Committee and include the correct personal information of participating students (student's full name, their existing campus) to avoid any errors in the future.

- Students don’t use the artworks or idea of the artworks from Elimination Round

- The artwork must be an original creation created by the participating student without the assistance from others. The artwork should not be a copy or based on the work of others. Artworks created by computer graphics will be disqualified.

- Students are not permitted to use any artwork or ideas from the elimination phase.

- The images and colors of the submitted entries must be original without using any other supporting devices to increase the quality of the artwork.

03 – 04/11

Students draw and submit their entries directly at the SALA campus within the time frame specified by the Organizing Committee.

 

TIMELINE FOR THE CONTEST

The Final Round Result will be announced in November 2023.

4. General rules

- By participating in this contest, students, teachers, parents, … agree to grant the Organizing Committee full rights to use their artworks and share them on all VAS media platforms including the website, Facebook, newsletters, VAS calendar... or any mass media.

- Participants must ensure the copyright of the submitted artworks, the entries must be original creations by the students and have not been used in any other contests

- In the event of any violation of the contest, the Organizing Committee reserves the right to disqualify or cancel the award of the winning artwork. 

- The Organizing Committee has the final decision-making authority over the winning entries.


III. PRIZES

- 3 First prizes (Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary): 3.000.000 VND each 

- 3 Second prizes (Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary): 2.000.000 VND each

- 3 Third prizes (Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary): 1.000.000 VND each

- 18 Consolation prizes (Kindergarten, Primary, Secondary – 6 prizes for each group): 500.000 VND each

- 1 prize for the campus with the most entries of the whole contest: 2.000.000 VND

- Royalties for 12 selected artworks used for the VAS New Year calendar: 500.000 VND each.

  • The total prize value for this contest is 35.000.000 VND
  • Note: Students are not awarded the final prize and royalties at the same time.
  • Prize for the campus with the most artworks from the elimination round: The Organizing Committee will calculate the ratio based on the total number of entries submitted by the campus in the Elimination round to determine and award the prize to the most actively participating campus at the end of the contest.
