VAS OLYMPICS 2023 - 2024 Terms and Conditions

I/ PARTICIPANTS – CONTENT OF COMPETITION

A - PARTICIPANTS (Representative by cluster SALA, SUN&RS, GH, BTH, HVT

- Mini football - 7 age groups: Pre2-Pre3 | 1-2 | 3-4 | 5 | 6-7 | 8-9 | 10-11

- International Chess - 3 age groups:

+ Individual: Students in Grade 3-4 | 6-7 | 8-9

+ Giant chess board (Group): Students in Grade 5 | 6-7 | 8-9

- Basketball - 3 age groups: Students in Grade 6-7 | 8-9 | 10-11

- Swimming - 5 age groups: Students in Grade 3-4 | 5 | 6-7 | 8-9 | 10-11

- Athletics - 7 age groups:  

+ Individual: Pre2-Pre3 | 1-2 | 3-4 | 5 | 6-7 | 8-9 | 10-11

+ Relay: Pre2-Pre3 | 1-2 | 3-4 | 5 | 6-7 | 8-9 | 10-11

- Cheerleading dance:

+ Cheer Dance: Kindy and Primary 

+ Flashmob: Secondary 

B - COMPETITION CONTENT

1. Mini Football:

- Divided into 7 age groups: Each cluster (SALA, SUN&RS, GH, BTH, HVT) appoints 1 team to compete (including 10 students) for each age group, with no limits for substitute players.

- Pre2-Pre3 | 1-2 | 3-4 | 5 | 6-7 | 8-9 | 10-11

2. International Chess:

+ Individual:

- Divided into 3 age groups: For students in Grade 3-4 | 6-7 | 8-9

- Each cluster appoints 1 team to compete for each age group (5 students - regardless of gender).

+ Giant Chess Board (Group):

- Divided into 3 age groups: Grade 5 | 6-7 | 8-9

- Each cluster appoints 1 team to compete for each age group (6 students - regardless of gender).

3. Basketball:

- Divided into 3 age groups: For students in grades 6-7 | 8-9 | 10-11

- Each cluster appoints 1 team to compete (including 10 students) for each age group. No limits for substitute players.

4. Freestyle Swimming: Boys & Girls 

+ Individual: Each Cluster registers 2 students for each age group - 01 Male & 01 Female (direct achievement calculation - shortest time)

- Male:

  • 50m (elementary): Grades 3 - 4 & Grade 5
  • 50m (secondary): Grades 6 - 7 | Grade 8 - 9 | Grade 10 - 11

- Female:

  • 50m (elementary): Grades 3 - 4 & Grade
  • 50m (secondary): Grades 6 - 7 | Grade 8 - 9 | Grade 10 - 11

+ Relay: Each Cluster registers 1 team (4 students/team) for each age group - 01 Boys’ Team & 01 Girls’ Team (direct achievement calculation - shortest time)

- Male:

  • 4 x 50m (elementary): Grades 3 - 4 & Grade 5
  • 4 x 50m (high school): Grades 6 - 7 | Grade 8 - 9 | Grade 10 - 11

- Female:

  • 4 x 50m (elementary school): Grades 3 - 4 & Grade 5
  • 4 x 50m (high school): Grades 6 - 7 | Grade 8 - 9 | Grade 10 - 11

5. Athletics: Boys & Girls

+ Individual: Each campus cluster registers 2 students for each age group - 01 Male & 01 Female (direct achievement calculation - shortest time).

- Male:

  • 40m: Pre 2 - Pre 3
  • 60m: 1-2 | 3 - 4 | Grade 5
  • 100m: 6 - 7 | 8 - 9 | 10-11

- Female:

  • 40m: Pre 2 - Pre 3
  • 60m: 1-2 | 3 - 4 | Grade 5
  • 100m: 6 - 7 | 8 - 9 | 10-11

+ Relay Primary - Secondary: Each Cluster registers 1 team (4 students/team) for each age group - 01 Men's Team & 01 Women's Team (live performance calculation - fastest time)

- Men’s Relay:

  • 4 x 20m: Pre 2-3 | 1-2
  • 4 x 40m: 3 - 4 | 5
    4 x 100m: 6 - 7 | 8 - 9 | 10-11

- Women's Relay:

  • 4 x 20m: Pre 2-3 | 1-2
  • 4 x 40m: 3 - 4 | 5
  • 4 x 50m:  6 - 7 | 8 - 9 | 10-11

6. Cheer Dance

+ Kindy: Each cluster sends 1 team to compete – 15 students, regardless of gender

+ Primary: Each Cluster sends 1 team to compete - 15 students, regardless of gender

7. Flashmob:

- For Secondary Students

- The clusters send the number of teams according to the announcement – each team 15 students, regardless of gender


II/ COMPETITION FORMAT

1. Mini Football:

- First round: Direct elimination

- Semi-Finals and Finals: Round-robin tournament.

- Prizes for the 3 best teams

2. Chess:

+ Individual:

- Competition format: Swiss system (Each Student is paired in every round, in which each student is scheduled for seven matches against another person in the same group)

- Elimination round, semi-final, final. 

- Prizes for the 3 best students

+ Giant Chess Board:

- First round: Direct elimination

- Semi-Finals and Finals: Round-robin tournament

- Prizes for the 3 best teams

3. Basketball

- First round: Direct elimination

- Semi-Finals and Finals: Round-robin tournament

- Prizes for 3 best teams

4. Swimming & Athletics:

- Competing round (turn by turn) – the fastest are selected 

- Prizes for 3 individuals (boys and girls)  and 3 prizes for three teams (boys and girls) with the best achievements. 

5. Cheer Dance:

- Form of competing: Direct elimination (points collected)

- Three best teams win prizes

6. Flashmob:

- Round 1: The Clusters select their best teams.

+ Ba Thang Hai: 3 teams 

+ Hoang Van Thu: 2 teams

+ Sunrise: 2 teams

+ Garden Hills: 2 teams

+ Sala: 2 teams

+ Riverside: 1 team

- Final round: Direct elimination - The three best teams win prizes.

IV/ PRIZE STRUCTURE:

1. Individual sports: (Swimming & Athletics & Chess): Gold - Silver - Bronze medals

2. Group sports: (Mini football, Basketball, Giant Chess, Cheer Dance / FLashmob): Gold Medal and Cup - Silver - Bronze

V/ PREPARATIONS

1. Each cluster selects their best candidates.

2. The Clusters register their lists of participants (with the Cluster Director’s approval) to the organizer for their registered sports: from now until the end of Nov 22nd, 2023
