Dr. Ben Schmidt, CAIE Regional Director for Southeast Asia and Pacific and Mr. Marcel Van Miert, VAS Executive Chairman at the MOU ceremony

It is another mark of the progress at VAS, that VAS has been considered by CAIE as its first strategic partner in setting up the CAIE Centre in Vietnam .  The Centre’s Training and professional development programmes and qualifications will provide opportunities for professional capacity building for VAS’s teachers and teachers from other schools in Vietnam.  Once the centre is put into operation its aim will be to develop and grow the number of qualified Vietnamese teachers to deliver the Cambridge Programme in Vietnam. Through this activity, VAS has reaffirmed its vision and mission - to be an excellent and continuously developing school system with priorities on academic excellence, teachers’ quality along with the student care services and the establishment of new campuses”, said Mr. Marcel Van Miert – Executive Chairman of VAS.

VAS wishes to replicate this training model and quality to Vietnamese students through professional training courses at the Center

At the event, Dr. Ben Schmidt, CAIE Regional Director for Southeast Asia and Pacific, shared: "In contrast to Cambridge's short-term annual programs, courses at PDQs are long-term learning programs for teachers and school management. The program helps its learners to explore, develop and reflect new ideas/methods in a systematic way. It also focuses on practical activities to improve the teaching effectiveness and the quality of student under the guidance and support from experts. "

VAS currently has nearly 200 foreign teachers teaching the Cambridgec International programs

VAS currently has nearly 200 foreign teachers teaching the Cambridgec International programs. In the previous Cambridge examinations, VAS students have achieved high results, which exceed the CAIE average score in the world. VAS is proud to be Cambridge’s largest partner in Vietnam and wishes to replicate this training model and quality to Vietnamese students through professional training courses at the Center.

In addition to the development of teachers, VAS also focuses on investing in facilities and teaching equipment in accordance with CAIE standards.
