Achieve the Dream of Creating and Programming Robots
VAS has finally found the new champions of the 2019 VAS Robocon Competition! After an exciting two-day tournament with enthusiastic cheers from hundreds of fans from seven VAS campuses, the victory belonged to the young creators from grades 4-5 at the Sala Mega Campus and secondary students from the Hoang Van Thu Campus!
The VAS Robocon Competition is the name of the annual robot design and innovation competition for students from grades 4-5 at VAS. This school year, the competition has extended to secondary students for the first time. With the topic "Where the creatives begin", the competition continues to become a technology playground that is loved by VASers because it stimulates their passion for science and helps them practice basic knowledge of ICT, programming, logical thinking in creating and operating robots.
Students from grades four and five had to produce creative designs and coordinate with their teammates by monitoring their robots to overcome obstacles. Secondary students designed and programmed an automatic robot that was able to move on all types of terrain, in conjunction with a strong robot car that could kick competitors out of the game. Devices used by VASers to build robots were from Lego EV3 Mindstorm, which were partially pre-assembled, but had to be programmed by students based on the requirements for each round.
Creativity is considered an important foundation to help young generations integrate into the world in the future. With this competition, VAS wants to develop students’ creative thinking and promote ICT approaches for students across all VAS campuses.
