Accompanying children in the turning point to Middle school

The transition into middle school is another challenge to students of this age. The study program is more demanding in requiring them to be able to think, reason, and learn critically, especially to have a strong sense of discipline, responsibility and motivation. Students ill-equipped to go through this emotional, social, ethical and academic turning point will fail to make adequate progress in class or even cope with many other issues in life.

With the aim of supporting parents in having a holistic perspective in preparation for students moving into middle school, VAS organized a workshop on “Accompanying children in the turning point to Middle school”. At the workshop, PhD. Nguyen Thi Bich Hong, Head of Psychology Department, Hochiminh City University of Pedagogy, shared with parents useful experience and knowledge about proper ways to communicate, encourage, support middle school students and to deal with related problems. Ms. Phan Ha Thuy, VAS Head of School, provided the parents with a concise introduction about International Cambridge program with A-Level diploma as graduation certificate, and the applying of Multiple Intelligences and Mind Map as the ultimate teaching and study method in the next school year. At the same time, another workshop is also organized for Primary students. They had a great time learning how to build up independence, inspiration, and excitement to step into high school from the sharing of Mr. Tran Dang Trieu, an expert trainer and speaker of TGM Corporation - one of the leading education organizations in personal development.
