Preschool Learning Project – Learning About Trees
The major objectives of the Preschool Learning Project – Learning about trees comprise of:
1. Developing awareness: Children learn to recognize names, characteristics and living conditions of trees in nature through visiting, reading books, doing experiments and watching scientific movies.

Observing and recognizing names, characteristics, benefits and harmful effects of trees
Learning about tree leaves, visiting areas full of green trees
Using microscopes to discover wood veins, leaves, barks Sowing seeds (rice, bean, etc.)
2. Developing language: Children learn to communicate confidently through such activities like reading poems, folk literatures, telling stories and reciting literatures about trees.

3. Socio-emotional development: Children learn to cooperate and share with friends when participating in teambuilding activities, know how to protect and care for trees: do not break trees and branches.

4. Aesthetic development: Children learn how to express appropriate feelings about natural beauty and combine a variety of activities like drawing, modeling, cutting, tearing and pasting, doing jigsaw puzzles to produce meaningful and creative products.

5. Physical development: Children learn such skills like walking, running, crawling, etc. when taking part in movement and active games.
Through the “Learning about Trees” project, children can develop physically, socio-emotionally, aesthetically and know how to cooperate and share with their friends in activities. They also know how to protect and take care of trees, express feelings about natural beauty and love their surrounding environment more.
