VAS Summer Jingle Contest

Summer always enhances the mood and brings happy emotions to students. At VAS, when the flamboyant trees are full of red blossoms and the cicadas sing over the school yard, it’s time for students to put away their homework and academic tasks and begin to explore the outside world through journeys and fun activities with their teachers and friends.

With an aim to capture all our beautiful and happy memories of summer as well as creating an exciting musical playground for students, VAS organizes the “VAS Summer Jingle Contest”, a music composition contest for all VAS primary and secondary students from all campuses.

By joining the programme, students will have an opportunity to work with professional musicians and win the 10,000,000 VND 1st prize. The winning song will become the official song of the annual VAS Summer Camp.

I OBJECTIVE

• Create a relaxing and fun musical playground for students
• Encourage students to develop their music composition skills
• Provide an opportunity for students to work with professional musicans
• The winning song will be chosen as the official song of VAS Summer Camp

II RULES

1/ Participants: All VAS primary and secondary students

2/ Topic

The song needs to convey positive and happy summer feelings. These could be memories, dynamic activities, or memorable times with friends and teachers. These could be special experiences that made you become more mature and want to live your life to the fullest after every summer.

3/ General rules

• Students can participate either as an individual or as a group.
• The lyrics of the song must be linked to the theme, conveying the key message and bring joy to listeners.
• Up beat and catchy rhythms.
• Participants must record their song clips and upload to Youtube with the subject:

“VAS Summer Jingle Contest – [Name of the song] - [Class - Campus – Songwriter’s name]”

• Participants agree to grant the organizer all rights to share their work across VAS media, such as our website, Facebook page, Youtube page, newsletter, or via mass media.
• The participants have to ensure the copyright of their own songs. The works should be originals which have not been used for any other contests.

4. Timeline and Award

4.1. Timeline

Oct 1st - Nov 15th, 2018	Students compose songs, create music videos, upload to Youtube and send the link to their musical teachers.
Nov 15th, 2018	Campuses collect and send all the links to the organizer.
Nov 16th to 30th, 2018	The organizer selects the best song and announces the result.
Dec, 2018	The winner will be coached by professional composer Duong Khac Linh
Jan, 2019	Filming and producing official MV for the summer song is processed
Mar 10th, 2019	The official launch event for the VAS Summer Jingle.

01 Prize worth 10,000,000 VND for the winning song.
