VAS Students and The Results of Painting Their Values of Love
The contest was launched in Sept. 2015
"From 2014-2015 to the present, VAS has strived to bring the 7 Core Values into both the formal and the extracurricular activities of the students. And the VAS Painting Contest is one of the many activities which were implemented during this school year. “I myself have to admit that it's hard to bring these values into painted expressions: Excellence, Confidence, Integrity, Respect, Passion, Teamwork and National Pride. But the students did much better than what the organizer had expected! "- claimed Marcel Van Miert, CEO of VAS. The competition attracted more than 600 students from our Primary and Secondary grades to participate with a variety of creative works which conveyed beautiful messages within their images. The organizers have selected and awarded the 28 most outstanding works with 39 total awards issued, including two First Prizes, two Second Prizes, two Third Prizes, 20 Encouragement Prizes and 12 Calendar-Painting Prizes.

The winning artworks were auctioned off at a ceremony on the 10th of January 2016 and the proceeds were donated to the charity fund - "Spring of Love", to support the disadvantaged at Tet. And in the morning of the 28th of February 2016, the VAS students who won the Painting Contest of the 7 Core Values made a visit and delivered their meaningful gifts to the orphans and the elderly at the Tu Hanh Pagoda in Binh Tan District, HCMC. With all of their warm and sincere greetings, they created a joyful atmosphere for those less fortunate on such a special occasion like the Tet holiday.

This also demonstrates the overall significant meaning of the contest that VAS wants to cultivate in each and every student at the school: Put your core values into practical actions in your everyday life whether it be in school, in your family or throughout our society.
