Outstanding achievements of VAS students in the Cambridge Checkpoint examination
VAS is among the top Cambridge schools around the globe for Mathematics in the Primary Checkpoint exam. In addition, 100% of VAS students were in the performance bands of ‘Good’, ‘High’ or ‘Outstanding’ for English as the first language (EFL) in the Secondary Checkpoint exam.
I. Cambridge Primary Checkpoint (Grade 5)
For Math, the average score achieved by VAS students is 42/50 (Outstanding) and is by far higher than the international average score for all primary Math Checkpoint results worldwide (by more than 10 points). This is one of the best performing years for VAS students, making VAS, once again, among the top Cambridge schools around the globe for Mathematics.
In Science and English as a second language, VAS students consistently maintain a strong performance with an average score in the "Good" and "High" range, which is equivalent to the global average score of all primary English Checkpoint results worldwide.
Especially, there are 50 students who achieved perfect scores for all three primary Checkpoint exam subjects.
- English: 76% of VAS students were in the performance bands of ‘Good’, ‘High’ or ‘Outstanding’ and 11% achieved perfect Scores.
- Science: 87% of VAS students were in the performance bands of ‘Good’, ‘High’ or ‘Outstanding’ and 19% achieved perfect Scores.
- Math: 99.9% of VAS students were in the performance bands of ‘Good’, ‘High’ or ‘Outstanding’ and 64.5% achieved perfect Scores.
II.Secondary Checkpoint (Grade 8)
At the Checkpoint Secondary Examination, the average score of VAS students in all three subjects is in the performance bands of ‘Good’, ‘High’ or ‘Outstanding’ and higher than the global average score of Cambridge students.
Especially, 100% of VAS students who took the English as a first language exam achieved grades of ‘Good’, ‘High’ or ‘Outstanding’. This is an incredible achievement considering EFL as a native language and is taught only to students of English native speaking countries.
In addition, there are 35 students who achieved perfect scores for all three lower secondary Checkpoint exam subjects.
- English: 100% of VAS students were in the performance bands of ‘Good’, ‘High’ or ‘Outstanding’ and 29% achieved perfect Scores.
- Science: 92.4% of VAS students were in the performance bands of ‘Good’, ‘High’ or ‘Outstanding’ and 35% achieved perfect Scores.
- Math: 97.2% of VAS students were in the performance bands of ‘Good’, ‘High’ or ‘Outstanding’ and 34.4% achieved perfect Scores.
VAS high school students have earned more than 65 scholarships worth almost 7 billion Vietnamese dong from renowned universities in England, the United States, Australia, the
Netherlands, Switzerland, and Vietnam. This is a 30% increase from the previous academic year and the number of scholarships is still growing.
