Discovering personalities and career choices

The counseling sessions comprised of:

  • Learning about the classification of personality and psychology and its importance in suitable career choices.
  • Defining types of personality of students based on the MBTI tool (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) to help them understand themselves better.
  • Discovering suitable careers based on their MBTI personality classification.

The MBTI personality test was developed about 60 years ago by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers. Thanks to the invaluable cooperation of the famous Swiss psychologist Carl G. Jung, MBTI was created to help people make smart career choices and understand differences in ordinary personality types. Upon understanding the diversity of different personality types, people are able to realize and appreciate their own strengths and weaknesses, and know why people are unique.

The counseling session also helped students have a new perspective on career options that match their personality and psychology. Understanding psychological characteristics helps students in future career choices not only before they leave school but also when they go to work and want to change their jobs.
