Meals on the wall – A meaningful community project of students from the Tran Cao Van Campus
Inspired by the story "Coffee on the Wall" in Venice, Italy, the community project "Meals on the wall - Sharing love" was initiated by the VAS students from Tran Cao Van Campus, class 7.2. It has quickly become widespread and well received by many restaurants and needy people.
At the restaurants and catering businesses who register for extending the program to the public, the students will put the logo of “Meals on the wall - Sharing love" together with a guide on how to do it. When a diner agrees to be double-charged, the staff will put a ticket for a free meal on the wall. Then disabled, poor or any needy people can just look at the wall and order the dishes which were pre-paid for them by generous customers.
Convincing the restaurant owners and catering businesses to participate
The project team approached restaurants in District 1, Binh Thanh Dist., and Phu Nhuan Dist. Up to now, there have been 5 restaurants and catering businesses that have joined our program "Meals on the wall – Sharing love", including:
1. Quan Huy Beo, Pho Chu Du, No. 1 in Hanoi, No. 19, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Str., Ben Nghe, District 1
2. Luly Vegetarian Restaurant, 19 Bis Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Str., Ben Nghe, District 1
3. Binh Dan catering - 19/1 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Str., Da Kao, District 1

Talk to people who need help
The students of class 7.2 are planning to expand their projects into more coffee shops, and restaurants and catering businesses throughout the city while also searching for more contributions to help the poor children in HCMC. The program has received media attention from the Cong an Nhan Dan television channel, the Education News bulletin from the Ho Chi Minh City’s Department of Education and Training, and finally, the Education and Times magazine.
The project has received the attention of the media
