Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Ha, Manager of Hoang Van Thu Campus, commented: "Hai is a good student with leadership skills and artistic talents. He definitely deserves the scholarships." She firmly believes other generations of students at VAS will follow Hai’s example of learning and in the future there will certainly be more “Phu Hai’s” to fly high from Vietnam Australia International School.

Humbly and sincerely, Hai said the educational environment at VAS, with dedicated and well-qualified teachers and modern teaching approaches, played an important role in helping him enhance knowledge, honing life skills and aspirations for dedication. Leaving Hanoi for Ho Chi Minh City with his family, Hai was given a chance by his parents to study at VAS from grade 9. In addition to Hai’s talent and learning effort, the educational environment at VAS plays an important role in helping him to boost his creativity, thinking skills, life skills and his capacity to approach reality.
Hai shared that, thanks to social activities, projects, events that required effort, intelligence and creativity, he became a competitive candidate in the eyes of the admissions councils of prestigious schools. As chairman of the student council, Hai made significant contributions to the implementation of various programmes and events that attracted students’ active and creative participation like, "Offering songs as requested", “Free Dress Friday" and the "Year-end Prom." In grade 10, Hai and his teammates showed their excellent artistic talent by winning the first prize for the "VAS Films" contest. In grade 11, Hai and his team made an impression through "Year-end Prom" when they actively communicated with partners to learn and expand knowledge of managing, administrating and completing the program. Having worked with Hai in many events, Thuy Vi, Student Council secretary, said: "Hai has the qualities of a leader who is spirited, persevere and strong-willed. Hai’s friends love him for his creativity and dynamism."

This August, Hai will head for the U.S. to study economics at Denison University (Ranked 50 in the top 100 universities in the world). Of course, Hai will not forget VAS where he gets wings to fly.
