ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE DISTORTED INFORMATION AND SLANDER ABOUT VAS

Dear Valued Parents,

The information network system of VAS has been attacked since Thursday, March 9, 2017, followed by threatening anonymous correspondences. At the same time, numerous distorted and misleading information, which is detrimental to the education service and operation of VAS, has been spread on websites as well as via emails, which you may have received so far. These information include:

1. the summary of salaries / incomes of the executives and staff at VAS;
2. the accusation of sexual harassment towards a student by teacher Ho Xuan Dinh;
3. the information on selling VAS to foreign investors and the rumor for the layoff of 2/3 of the entire staff at VAS.

On behalf of the Management Board, teachers and staff of VAS, we would like to make an official announcement about the above incidents:

1. VAS is under an attack by cyber criminals through a combination of stealing confidential data from VAS’s internal information network and manipulating such data. This is a severely detrimental act to VAS’s operation and reputation from the criminals for their own benefits or as a cause of illegal competition. The act of stealing and spreading confidential information on VAS’s staffs’ income is a result of theft crime that aims at stimulating and causing internal disorder and disunity among VAS’s staff. This is a severely detrimental act to VAS’s operation and reputation from the criminals for their own benefits or as a cause of illegal competition.
2. The hackers have hacked into a personal Facebook account of an ex-parent of VAS and made accusation towards our teacher Ho Xuan Dinh for sexual harassment against a student. This is absolutely an act of allegation and severe damage to teacher Dinh’s reputation in particular and VAS’s teaching staff in general. The parent had subsequently reported that her Facebook account was hacked and confirmed that the above mentioned information was absolutely untrue.
3. VAS always takes our staff as one of the most valuable and sustainable assets. VAS has been making continuous efforts in ensuring and improving the compensation and welfares for its staff to make VAS a company-to-work-for and will continue to do so.
4. VAS has achieved enormous growth since the joining of foreign investors. The investment of these investors at VAS will stimulate faster growth both from quality and operational efficiency perspectives, thus providing a better prospect for all VAS’s stakeholders, especially its students, parents, teachers and staff. Therefore, the information about of layoff of 2/3 staff at VAS is an absolute white lie and allegation. In reality, VAS plans to recruit many more staff to support its business expansion plan and continue to cater for the ever-growing needs from its parents and students for a quality education.

VAS is working closely with the competent investigative authorities to bring the criminals to light within the earliest possible time frame.
