Cambridge organizing the IGCSE Teacher Training Program at VAS
From 21st to 22nd September 2017, the Vietnam Australia International School (VAS), authorized by the Cambridge International Examinations, held a training program for teachers of the International General Certificate of Secondary Education program (IGCSE). The goal of this training is to update teachers with the latest curriculum, teaching methods and most recent test structures of the four subjects including English as a first language, Mathematics, Sciences and Business. There were 40 teachers from Indonesia, Korea, Hong Kong and Vietnam, including 13 from VAS.

IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is a Cambridge International Baccalaureate program for students from grade 9. This is a program to train and develop the elite students, which provides them with both the best preparation for the AS and A-Level and necessary skills for the future job market. The program includes Math, English, Science, ICT and Business. At the end of grade 10, the students will take the IGCSE exam by the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).

At VAS, the IGCSE program was introduced in the 2013-2014 school year. At the end of the 2016-2017 school year, 80% of the students enrolled in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) scored C to A*, 56% higher than that in 2015. In particular, VAS has two students who won the "Top in Vietnam" awards including Dinh Nam Anh in General Sciences, 9th grade, and Vuong Cung Quang in English as Secondary language, 10th grade. Besides, for many years now, the high school graduates from VAS have received many prestigious scholarships from reputable domestic and overseas universities worldwide.

This is the 5th year in a row Vietnam Australia International School has been entrusted by Cambridge to organize training courses on the Cambridge Knowledge and Methodology since the 2013-2014 school year. In August 2017, Cambridge also entrusted VAS to organize an annual training course for 131 primary and secondary school teachers from many Asian countries
