VAS Summer Camp - Experience and Grow up through The Camping Trips

 

"Being Farmers in One Day” in the Green Farm

Country life experience always gives the little students a huge surprise and excitement. Last week, “VAS farmers” had a hard but joyful day in the Green Farm which is located in Cu Chi - HCMC. This farm applies natural and environmentally-friendly methods in farming. The farm is about 160.000m2 and is designed in accordance with the learn-and-play model to serve students who would like to learn and have fun when exploring the country life.

 

 

The morning of VAS farmers (grades 6-10) begins with planting rice on the paddy fields, visiting and taking care of the cattle and harvesting peanuts. After having lunch and taking a nap under the coconut trees, they went fishing and enjoyed the sweet rewards with grilled snakehead fish, snakehead fish porridge and boiled peanuts. Through this practical experience, they understood the value of their hard work and the happiness when sharing with other people.

Discovering a river life in Can Tho

The 3-day-2-night trip at Bao Gia Trang Vien Homestay, Can Tho City was a memorable holiday for the grade 8-10 students of VAS. Students had to adapt to living independently, teamworking and being responsible at work just in a very short time. Within the activities named "Young artists" on the first day, they had an opportunity to test their artistry and creativity in making their own toys with natural materials (coconut leaves, bamboo leaves ...), making rice paintings, traditional toys with recycled materials…

 

With uninterrupted Team Building Program "Mekong Amazing Race", the value of solidarity is maximized throughout the challenges such as "Displaying fruit trays", "Blindfold beating pigs", "I'm talented", "Let’s bake"," Scoop ditch to fish"... These challenges are all about traditional and cultural activities and games of people’s daily life in the South. In addition to participating in activities such as cooking contests, Mini Concert, campfire, dropping the lanterns, VAS students also joined the trip on Can Tho river, visited the Cai Rang floating market and noodles village and shared love with people living the village community homes and those who have difficult circumstances by giving them meaningful gifts.

 

 

Have fun with school activities

The Kindergarten and Primary students of VAS had exciting picnics with the lively and useful activities at amusement parks and tourist attractions in the city. In class, the Kindergarten students were engaged in scientific activities: to understand why things float or sink, get acquainted with the culinary through mayonnaise-mixed vegetables, learn about artistic parachuting and swimming... The Primary students successfully prepared pizza, muffins and masterred new dances under the guidance of the talented dancers Daniel and Lam Vinh Hai. And on the sport fields at VAS, the balls are rolling to ensure that young players are having fun.
