The 4th week of Online Summer Course – the diversity of experience
Students of the Aerobics class this week were guided to prepare and practice their favorite movements. The “TikTok dance” class introduced the Lunge step for exercising. The students comfortably engaged and felt the songs’ spirit in every move.
The main topic of the “Danish decoration art” course in week 4th was “The colorfulness of childhood world.” The students were guided to decorate paintings with vegetables, straws, and colored papers. Meanwhile, the “Decorating souvenirs” course presented the most impressive designs of the topic “Style & fashion design.”
Last week, the “Home cooking & Healthy eating” class had already cooked Vietnamese and Western dishes. This week students could challenge themselves with fried dumplings (a Chinese dish) and iced lemon, which helps provide vitamin C for bodies and improve health.
The science project-based learning guided students to go deeper into learning about animals, which are all types of animals living in the water (fresh, saline, and brackish water environment). The “Green Living” class provided students with knowledge of clean water sources, the technique of purifying water, and saving and protecting water sources.
Last week students had learned knowledge about lipsticks. This week, following the topic “The beauty of lips” in “Science research project” class, they experienced the process of making lipsticks from safe ingredients like coconut oil, sweet gourd oil, and mineral colors. Besides, students were guided to design and decorate lipstick boxes to complete their own lipstick products.
What was going with academic classes this week?
The “Preparation for Grade 1” course taught kids the skills of getting support when they are in need and Math knowledge (shapes, numbers, and primary lines), and then let them draw pictures from shapes and lines learned.
Students in the “Thinking and solving mathematically” class studied solid geometry – including the relations among the corners in the space, intersections between lines and surfaces, and the distance from one point to a surface. Students were reviewed and tested at the end of the session.
Students in “The beauty of Vietnamese linguistics” class this week practiced writing social discourse essays. They were guided to review the general structure of social discourse essay type and how to express the ideas. Then they learned how to make outlines, write paragraphs and connect paragraphs in a social discourse essay.
This week, the General English course let students study the vocabulary of school life, social service careers, the problems related to food and health, music, and films for pre-beginner and beginner levels. The intermediate and advanced classes provided vocabulary and grammar and guided the usage of English in creating stories following specific topics.
