VAS GREEN DAY RUN has donated more than 3,000 trees to Can Gio Mangrove
The VAS GREEN DAY RUN 2019 fundraising event has ended but the beautiful memories andunforgettable moments of the event are still the inspiration for VAS to continue maintaining and developing projects for the environment in the future!
To summarize, VAS GREEN DAY RUN has donated 3,117 trees for the Can Gio Mangrove Forest.
- In the upcoming days, December 30 and 31, 2019, more than 400 secondary students and teachers from Ba Thang Hai and Sunrise campuses will represent VAS to conduct tree planting in Can Gio Mangrove Forest under the direction of the Can Gio Mangrove Forest Management Board.
- The tree planted is the Lumnitzera racemosa, commonly known as the white-flowered black mangrove. Seedlings are 1 to 1.3-meter-high and have been tended in nurseries to meet planting standards.
- Planting location: Rung Sac Road, An Thoi Dong Commune, Can Gio District, Ho Chi Minh City.
It is expected that VAS will plant a representative number of 300 - 360 trees in these two days and the remaining planting amount will be addedlater by Can Gio Mangrove Forest.
After all trees are planted, the Forest Management Board will update the tree's development progress in photos to VAS every 6 months in the first year from the date of planting.
VAS hopes that more than 3,000 trees will grow strongly, greening the abandoned salt fields and become significant part of the Can Gio Mangrove Forest to provide more oxygen to Ho Chi Minh City.
Once again, VAS would like to thank you for your support and companionship!
