A SERIES OF USEFUL EVENTS FROM VAS SALA MEGA CAMPUS FOR STUDENTS AND PARENTS

In the past few weeks, the Sala Mega Campus has organized a series of useful events for students and parents, including a training session on "Teaching your child to effectively prevent and fight agaisnt sexual abuse", a sharing workshop on the topic "Family - The cradle of personality", and the contest "My Favourite Book" combined with the "Reading Day". Parents and students from Sala Mega Campus enjoyed these events and shared their positive reactions.

Students need to understand their own values, be aware of their bodies,
and practice the skills needed to protect themselves from sexual abuse.

Among all events, parents shared the best feedback for the training session on "Teaching your child to effectively prevent and fight against sexual abuse" led by psychologist, Dr. Pham Thi Thuy, with the goal of helping children identify and protect themselves from danger. At the training session for primary and secondary schools, students aged 6 to 10 were trained in necessary self-defense skills; while those aged 11 to 14 learned about sex education. As for Kindergarten, teachers from the VAS Sala Mega Campus taught children the skills to prevent abuse with a simple culturally sensitive presentation appropriate to their developmental stage.

Many parents participated in the Sala Mega Campus workshop,
"Family - The cradle of personality”

It is undeniable that the family unit is the most important foundation for socialization into the greater society and for nurturing the dreams of every child. During this time, the Sala Mega Campus organized a sharing session with the topic, "Family - The cradle of personality", to help parents overcome common difficulties in teaching their children, understanding child psychology, and learning how to teach them effectively. In the session, psychologist Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Hong shared plenty of useful information with parents, including the importance of family education for each child, methods of understanding their psychology, and recommended ways to educate their children.

In parallel with these activities, the Sala Mega Campus also held a contest entitled, "My Favourite Book" in conjunction with "Reading Day" to encourage students to actively approach new sources of knowledge which go beyond their studies in school. Parents in attendance saw the winning artwork by their child, and also learned more about their reading hobbies and habits.

The award ceremony commended and rewarded students with excellent writing skills as well as to promoted opportunities for young readers to express their love for reading.

The reading day not only enhanced knowledge, but also encouraged students
to develop a reading culture in the context of global integration.
