Professional Training Workshops for all Teachers at VAS

The content of the professional training workshops for Cambridge teachers includes an overview of preschool educational programme, curriculum integration projects, educational softwares used at VAS and professional trainings for the teachers of Maths, Science, English subject... There are 295 VAS teachers from many countries around the world participating in the training workshops this year.

 

Among of the events was the 5th Cambridge Professional Training Workshop held by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and VAS. This training, which was for teachers of Secondary Cambridge International Programme, was organized at Ba Thang Hai campus on 3rd August 2016. The workshop, with the participation of Mr. Melvyn Lim, Head of Development of the schools in Vietnam and Myanmar, trainers from CIE, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan – Director of Academic Division and Mr. Brendan Paul O'Flaherty – Director of Studies (Cambridge Programme), was for 12 Science teachers, department heads and coordinators of International programs (IPC) at VAS.

 

For teachers of National Education Programme, VAS also held a 4-day professional training workshop to equip elementary and secondary teachers with the school’s orientation, teaching methods and programme content in order to help them be well-prepared for the new school year. It is also an opportunity for the school to update teachers the new circulars, new rules announced by the Department of Education and Training of HCM City and Ministry of Education and Training.

 

In addition to the professional training workshops, VAS regularly organizes the competitions for teachers/homeroom teachers such as The Outstanding Teachers Contest, The Wonderful Homeroom Teacher Contest, The Creative Teacher Contest... It aims to help teachers to have an opportunity to practice and improve their skills serving their teaching career.
