VAS Talks 2016 – practical, meaningful and inspirational

The talk show with the guest artists took place in a exciting and inspirational atmosphere. On Mr. Thanh Loc’s appearance on the stage, VAS youngsters were cheering excitedly. They were then totally driven by the real stories and sense of humor of this "Once upon a time" actor. When young , Thanh Loc, who was known as being good at opera singing and folk dancing, wanted to become a ballet dancer. Yet, he later decided to pursue drama because this art brought along and reflected all aspects of the modern social life. And it were his hard work and continous efforts to best present every role he got, together with his motto of “neither conceited in victory nor discouraged by failure”, that made him a leading figure in today’s drama industry.

Unlike Thanh Loc with his the cheerful stories, musician Duc Tri conquered the students feeling by his expert piano skills and personal stories about his constant efforts in musical practice since the age of 6 till now when he becomes a successful musician and music producer. By playing the piano, he helped the students distinguish our traditional music from Western music and at the same time integrate the folk melodies into modern music works.

Success only comes to those who dare to pursue their passion till the end! Duc Tri had to try a lot of musical instruments. During his years of studying in the Conservatory and foreign countries, he worked very hard to renew himself in every song. His fortitude and love of music did inspire all the students. He helped them understand that every great artist starts with a passionate kid.

In another session, musician Duong Khac Linh shared with the students the reasons why he went back to Vietnam to work as a music producer and his desires to create originality for our country’s music industry. Besides those artists, the inspirational "talk show" VAS Talks 2016 also attracted voluntary participations of young businesspeople. Investor Eddie Thai, for example, helped the students visualize the learning environment at Harvard, Yale and other start-up stories while Mr. Marcel Van Miert - VAS Executive chairman, shared his experiences in finding a true passion from a lot of trials.

The VAS students also spared much love for the Talent Manager, Ms. An Vo, with touching and heart-feltstories about a young girl’s dedication for humanitarian activities and engraving herself with the distinct values of our homeland.

VAS students were also extremely excited with dancer Lam Vinh Hai’s sponteanous performances on the stage of VAS Talks 2016. Before becoming a a professional dancer, he used to face such hurdles as the family disagreement, consecutive while-training injuries, as well as public prejudice. Despite all these, he never gave up his passion for dancing.

Closing with the beautiful images of a meaningful event
"VAS Talks 2016" is part of the 7 Core Values Education Program for VAS students which aims at inspiring them in Passion and National Pride. The event took place from 12-21/9/2016 . A lot of true stories were told, many lessons were learned about daring to dream, daring to pursue the dreams and live to the fullest with one’s passion. Whatever we do in whatever field, we can breath our traditional spirit into our works, into people’s hearts for a richer and better VietNam!
