VAS – Announcement letter regarding the new tuition fee plan for the 2019-2020 School year
We would like to express our sincere thanks to you for trusting and accompanying us on the journey to build an excellent learning environment for our students.
The school is pleased to announce that, following the guideline policy of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, we are ready to welcome our students back to school, gradually by grade, starting next week May 4th, 2020. At the same time, VAS will continue to carry out Covid-19 prevention measures on our campuses according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment for students. In preparation for students returning to their school, VAS’s Academic Board has developed a specific teaching and learning plan, including the compensation plan to address any gaps of the online teaching and learning period during the Covid-19 school closure. Our teachers and school management will shortly provide you with more detail regarding this plan.
Over the past few weeks, VAS has received your feedback and concerns on the learning program and tuition fee policy during the Covid-19 affected period. We appreciate and thank you for your contribution to improve the quality of management and educational programs at VAS. Regarding the students’ tuition and other fees, VAS is committed to being clear and transparent. Our actions in the recent weeks and months have been primarily concerned with maintaining a quality education environment, minimizing the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic on the health of our community and learning process of students.
VAS fully understands the difficulties that parents are facing, in particular, and the community is facing in general. To take part in contributing to the community and supporting the Parents during this challenging period, VAS Board of Directors has decided to roll out a new tuition fee plan, applied to the tuition fee for the 2019 - 2020 school year for kindergarten, primary and secondary school as follows:
- For Kindergarten level: For the official school closure period as required by the Government, tuition will be waived.
- For Primary and Secondary level: For the online learning period during the school closure as required by the Government, tuition will be reduced by 70%.
- Meal and student transportation fees during Covid-19 affected period will not be charged. Parents will pay only for the amount correspondent to the actual days of service usage.
- Upon students return to school as per the schedule of DOET of HCMC, all tuition and other fees will return to normal as per the listed fee schedule published by the school at the beginning of the current school year, subject to the actual number of physical teaching weeks, including the compensation weeks until the tentative school ending date of July 15th, 2020.
- The payment deadline for the above fees has been flexibly extended until May 22nd, 2020.
- The balance amount of tuition fee, meal and transportation fees after the reduction will be carried forward to the following term payment or the payment for the new school year 2020 - 2021, otherwise refunded at the end of the school year, if preferred by parents. The refund will be made subject to the fulfillment of all the fees incurred for the school year 2019 – 2020, including fees during the online teaching and learning period.
In addition, the VAS Board of Directors has decided to extend the one-time offer of a 10% reduction on any tuition fees for the 2020 - 2021 school year paid prior to May 29th, 2020, whether for the full year or a part year.
Individual Parents who are facing financial hardship or dificulties paying their school fees, even in light of the above assistance package, are encouraged to contact campus management to arrange a confidential meeting to discuss a personalized alternative arrangement:
