VAS continues the journey of planting 3,000 trees at Can Gio mangrove forest

With the mission of spreading the message of protecting Can Gio forest - “the green lung” of HCM City, VAS had organized an annual running competition for fundraising purposes “Green Day Run” to fulfill this mission. After the 2 recent years organizing the competition, VAS had donated a total of more than 6.000 trees, of which 3.000 trees planted in 2019 are all well-grown!

On 09/01/2023, our VASers from Ba Thang Hai and Sunrise campuses have represented VAS to start their journey to Dan Xay eco-tourism in Can Gio. When arriving, our energetic VASers have been provided shovels, boots, seeds and together plant 100 trees during this interesting journey. After finishing the activity, students also had the opportunity to listen about the recovery, protection, and development process of Can Gio mangrove forest in the past 43 years as well as to visit the exhibition to learn more about living things in the mangrove forest.

More than 3.000 trees donated will be received and planted by the Forest Management Board, closing a successful year for VAS “Green Day Run” with meaningful and memorable contribution for the environment from all students, parents, teachers, and staff at VAS.
