Digital Audio Visual Lab Assistant Manager

Scope of the role

The Digital Audio Visual Lab Assistant Manager is responsible for training and supporting staff and students with audio visual projects both curricula and extra-curricular. The DAV Assistant Manager will work with campus management to select and prepare audio visual content for the marketing team and parent communication tools and selected social media platforms. The DAV Assistant Manager will assist campus management with content creation to aid student retention and to promote the campus to prospective parents. The role also encompasses fostering a safe and encouraging learning environment, committing to personalized lifelong learning, and effectively differentiating training and learning to meet the needs of all students and staff.

1.Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

Training Approaches:

  • Create a training programme to teach students and staff on use of the DAV Lab.
  • Utilize a range of training strategies, including effective use of ICT to enhance learning.
  • Support teachers and students in media project planning and production and class management.
  • Encourage individual student engagement and motivate students to apply themselves to their projects.
  • Create a conducive learning environment and actively reflect on how to improve student and staff experience in the DAV Lab.

Caring for Students:

  • Encourage students to ask clarifying questions before, during, and after projects.
  • Make time available for students, including working outside normal class timetabled hours as directed.
  • Adapt content and training approaches to cater to individual learning needs.
  • Use virtual classrooms if necessary, as extensions of learning.
  • Monitor students' social and emotional well-being and take immediate steps when necessary. 

Communication:

  • Communicate actively and immediately with students and parents using appropriate tools (Microsoft Teams, email, face-to-face interactions).
  • Follow up important messages with an email.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous tone in all communications.

Collaboration:

  • Value cooperation, mutual support, and effective communication.
  • Promote harmony and demonstrate open-mindedness.
  • Seek appropriate resolutions to conflicts and support all colleagues.
  • Develop and promote good rapport with all members of the school community.
  • Understand curriculum DAV Lab projects and how the DAV Lab is integrated into curriculum subject areas.
  • Support students with their own projects, such as music performances, interview content, student news channel, podcasts, ECAs etc.

  • Adhere to professional ethics, international mindedness, and the school's mission.
  • Adhere cooperatively to VAS policies and regulations, including duties, deadlines, programme requirements, and HR policies.
  • Seek clarification when necessary to meet all role expectations.
  • Maintain high standards and contribute to curriculum projects documentation.
  • Show exemplary attendance and support extended school day activities.
  • Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as needed.

2. Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in media production, media and communication, digital media and design, film studies, cinematography screen and media or related fields from a recognized university or college.
  • Knowledge of video editing software, especially Adobe Premiere Pro, Cap Cut, iMovie.
  • Knowledge of DSLR camera operation, sound recording and lighting set up.
  •  Minimum of two years’ experience as a class technician, preferably in an international K-12 school or a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Passion for content creation.
  • Strong technical skills for video, sound, lighting and post-production video editing.
  • Demonstrate eagerness, resilience, and understanding to engage and collaborate in the development of a highly aspirational school.
  • Possess skills and attitudes aligned with the school's purpose, mission, and vision.
